Decoupage Print Tutorial

I love the look of a decoupaged print on canvas so I thought that I would share my very simple tutorial.  First, choose your print: I searched the internet for a free download.  I love Philippians 4:8 so I printed it on my standard printer paper.  Along with your print, you will need a canvas (I chose an 8 x 10), modge podge and a sponge applicator.

Okay, first step, apply a thin layer of modge podge on to your canvas.  

Next, center your print on the canvas and carefully press it down, while smoothing out any wrinkles or air bubbles.  Be careful not to tear the paper.

Allow the print to dry for approximately a half an hour.  Once dry, apply a generous amount of modge podge as a top layer.  Not only does this provide a nice finish but it acts as a protective layer as well.

Organization Solutions

I have been so fortunate to find a friend who deals in antiques and has just supplied me with a whole lot of vintage goodness.  Check back often as I'll be listing several of these beautiful pieces daily.  Today I listed a gorgeous early 1900s Folk Art piece; Oval Metal Rooster Tole Serving Tray and an early 1900s Wood Clothing Brush.  Thrilled to be adding more rustic relics throughout the week.

Fleur de Lis Travertine Tile Coaster Set

These were super easy and super fun to create. I picked up a gorgeous set of Ivory Travertine Stone Tiles from the local Tile Shop and added black vinyl fleur de lis decals that I purchased from santasgiftshoppe http://www.etsy.com/shop/santasgiftshoppe?ref=ss_profile. Next I attached four circular felt pads onto the back of each coaster to protect the furniture from being scratched (I have a seven year old that likes to play with everything as though it were a demolition car).
